What is PRP?
PRP is a natural product created from your own body.A small amount of blood will be drawn from you and placed in a sterile tube. It is spun down in a centrifuge to separate the different components of blood products. Red and white blood cells are divided from the platelets and the plasma. This plasma now contains a higher than normal number of platelets and is called platelet rich plasma or PRP. While the PRP is being prepared, your skin will be cleansed and prepared for the treatment.
How does PRP rejuvenate skin?
Platelets are cells in the body that help to heal tissue and grow new skin. PRP is injected into the skin or used as a layer of topical application with micro-needling procedure. Micro-needling is a technique used to deliver micro-injuries to the skin using tiny needles delivered by a high speed automated tip. This micro-injury results in the production of new collagen and elastin. With the formation of microscopic channels, it allows products like PRP to penetrate deeper into the layers of the skin.
PRP is also used as an injection to rejuvenate and regenerate new skin. When injected into specific areas, it acts as a matrix and promotes your own collagen to grow and regenerate tissue. It acts naturally to smooth and tighten skin.
