Is it safe?
HCG is an FDA approved drug for medical conditions including infertility and hypogonadism. It has been used for many years by medical practitioners for weight loss. It is used as an “off label” drug in smaller doses of 125 units.
Are the injections painful?
No, the needle is a very fine gauge needle. It is injected in the abdominal area and most patients feel a slight discomfort which quickly disappears.
What can I eat?
You will be given a guide with foods to eat and a shopping list to help you choose your foods. There are also recipes which will be provided to you to help you with meal preparation.
How many pounds can I expect to lose?
Individual results will vary. Most of our patients lose an average of 0.5 to 1 lb per day and lose inches.
Can I wear make up or lotions?
You can use make up. We prefer you use non oil based products. We also discourage the use of body lotions containing oils. An alternative to your regular body lotion, aloe Vera gel or lotion.
Can I exercise?
Light exercise is okay but heavy rigorous cardio or weight training is discouraged. You may feel lightheaded and fatigued due to your lower caloric intake.
What happens after the diet?
We will guide you through the maintenance phase of your diet. You can continue to receive MIC/ slim injections to augment your weight loss. We will give you guidance on what foods to avoid. Encourage an exercise routine.
LASER HAIR REMOVAL
What does laser hair removal feel like? Is it painful?
Most people will not feel pain as they undergo laser hair removal with the LightSheer Duet system. Although pain is an individual feeling, most patients express the sensation as tolerable. Improve Health Solutions does a test spot during your initial consultation so you can feel for yourself.
What should I do before treatment?
It is imperative that you avoid sun exposure and tanning beds for at least 4 weeks prior to your treatment. This is a must and no exceptions will be made.
Tanning creams and self- tanners should be avoided for at least 2 weeks.
Inform your practitioner if you are taking any medications, herbal supplements, or acne medications like Accutane within the past year.
Do not tweeze, wax, or epilate the area being treated for approximately 6 weeks prior to treatment.
The night before your treatment thoroughly shave all areas to be treated.
What should I expect after a treatment?
Your skin may be red and bumpy after a treatment. This is absolutely normal. Post treatment, we recommend protecting the area from the sun to avoid any additional heat to the area. We also recommend avoiding exercise, saunas, and other activities which may irritate the area or induce heat for 24-48 hrs immediately post treatment.
How many treatments will I need?
Hair grows in continuous cycle. The anagen or growth phase is the target of laser hair reduction. This phase contains the most melanin and it is understood that there is an average 20-30 % of anagen growth phase at any given time. Most patients will require a minimum of 3 treatments. Repeated sessions are necessary. If you suffer from hormone imbalance you may need ongoing treatments.
Does the LightSheer Duet work on different skin colors?
The LightSheer Duet laser system safely and effectively all skin types ( Fitzpatrick skin types I-VI). For darker skin types, appropriate fluences are generally lower and appropriate pulse widths are generally longer to prevent damage to the epidermis which s the outer layer of skin. Using the appropriate treatment parameters people with all skin types can benefit from laser hair removal with the LightSheer Duet. Patients with lighter hair/ white hair have no melanin or pigment so they are not candidates for laser hair removal.
Does the LightSheer Duet work on tanned skin?
A tan is damage to the skin. When it is damaged, it creates a “tan” or color. This is the melanin deposit in the skin. The laser is targeting melanin. The technology in the LightSheer Duet allows the skin to be cooled effectively to not traumatized the “tan”. The energy used to treat tanned skin has to be reduced to accommodate tanned skin. A patient with tanned skin may require more treatments. Than someone without a tan. To have a more effective and aggressive treatment, it would be better not to have a tan.
Is the LightSheer Duet FDA approved?
The LightSheer diode laser system has been cleared by the FDA for hair removal and permanent hair reduction on all skin types and tanned skin.
MICRO-NEEDLING AND PRP FACIAL
What is micro-needling?
It is a technique used to deliver micro–injuries to the skin delivered by our high speed automated tip. This micro-injury results in the production of new collagen and elastin by provoking the wound healing cascade. With the formation of microscopic channels, products like PRP or hydramax are absorbed by the skin 800 times the normal application of topical products.
Who is a candidate?
It is safe for all skin types. Our practitioners will perform a thorough medical screening and evaluation to ensure that you are a candidate before the procedure. It addresses a variety of skin conditions including reduction of fine lines and wrinkles, acne scars, hyperpigmentation and sun damage, stretch marks and cellulite and any areas on your skin in need of rejuvenation.
What is the downtime?
Most patients experience mild redness and facial flushing lasting 1-3 days. This will diminish over time. Patents may have some bruising although very rare. Flaking is also common days 4-7. Patients can resume normal skin care routine in 24 hrs.
How many treatments are needed?
Depending on your skin care needs, a series of 4-6 treatments are recommended with micro-needling at 4 week intervals.
With PRP Facial treatments, a single session can be beneficial. We recommend a series of 2 micro needling treatments with hydramax 6 months apart. This will augment and enhance the PRP procedure for optimal skin health. Results will vary per individual and skin health. Most will see noticeable results at 3 months post treatment but will continue to see subtle skin improvement in texture and tone and improvement in fine lines and wrinkles for up to 12-15 months. Skin is always aging and exposed to damaging factors which contribute to your skin health. You may repeat treatments as often as once per year to continue to optimize results and skin rejuvenation.
What is a PRP facial?
It is micro-needling using your own PRP. PRP is platelet rich plasma. PRP helps to heal tissue and grow new skin. It has several important growth factors necessary for wound healing and forming of new collagen and elastin. Collagen and Elastin are the tissues responsible for skins elasticity and firmness. With PRP used as serum, it enhances and speeds up
Can PRP facials be combined with others?
Botox, fillers, chemical peels, and ablative skin rejuvenation can be continued as a regular skin care regimen. It is recommended that these procedures be avoided for 1 month.
